NSI would like to draw your attention to the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) Security Control Room Operators’ course that is shown on the Incident Management, Advice and Guidance Section of their website in relation to Responding to Terrorist Incidents. The Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) has launched two training courses to help organisations and businesses plan, prepare and respond to terrorist incidents. The courses and associated guidance are uniquely based on CPNI’s research which shows that the preparedness and training of Security Control Rooms are vital to saving lives in responding to a terrorist incident. Operators from transport, retail, sports stadiums and arenas, major events, office buildings, government buildings and other UK Publicly Accessible Locations have attended the course. There is a 5-day course which blends classroom discussions, exercises and immersive exercises for Security Control Room Operators, and a 1-day course for managers or others with responsibility for security control rooms. More details on the courses, funded by CPNI, can be found at www.SCRcourse.co.uk or Responding to Terrorist Incidents – Security Control Room (SCR) Operators Course | CPNI.
