BS 8418:2015+A1:2017 was published in October 2017 and supersedes BS 8418:2015, which is withdrawn. This amendment to BS 8418 includes requirements to allow you to provide users with the ability to control and monitor CCTV systems using a remote device, such as a smart phone. This is optional and remote devices are only included where required. Details of the amendment are given in NSI Technical Bulletin 0043 which is available from the secure log-in area of the NSI website. BS 8418:2015+A1:2017 applies with immediate effect to all new BS 8418 detector activated CCTV systems and to any systems installed to the 2015 edition of BS 8418 where a facility to use a remote device is added. The standard is available for you to download from the NSI website if you subscribe to the NSI standards service.
