UKAS ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF NEW CERTCHECK DATABASE

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) has today announced the launch of a new ‘CertCheck’ database – a free-to-use online database that allows all users to independently verify UKAS accredited management system certifications: https://certcheck.ukas.com/ NSI recognises the importance of UKAS accreditation as the foundation which ensures consistency and integrity across the board in all Certification Bodies and welcomes the launch of this database which provides an additional vehicle for supply chain visibility, increasingly important in today’s business world. The database enables customers to verify that their chosen NSI Approved Company holds UKAS Accredited Certification. All Certificates of Approval issued by NSI bear the UKAS logo confirming the Certificate is issued under UKAS Accreditation. Initially the UKAS CertCheck database will focus on management system certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and therefore will only be relevant to those NSI Gold Approved Companies who hold one or more management system certifications. UKAS has indicated its intent to broaden the database in the future to include product certifications (British & International technical standards and codes of practice) which would see both Silver and Gold Approved Companies registered on the database. The new database forms part of the existing services delivered by UKAS to Certification Bodies, therefore there is no additional cost impact on Approved Companies associated with its launch. As a community of companies committed to maintaining standards in our industry, the UKAS CertCheck database validates the credibility of approvals held by NSI Approved Companies. The database also acts as a barrier to fraudulent or misleading claims of accredited certification. We hope you will join us in supporting the introduction of this new database and, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
