The Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) will be withdrawn on 31 January 2027, leaving less
than six months for the migration of any remaining alarm signalling systems that continue to rely
upon PSTN services.
The BSIA is kindly undertaking a final industry-wide survey of Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) to
establish the current state of readiness across the fire and security sectors. The survey is being
conducted to support a broader industry working group involving stakeholders including Openreach,
Government departments, signalling providers, trade associations, Certification Bodies and other
industry representatives.
