BS EN ISO 14001:2015 TRANSITION

As you are aware ISO 14001:2015 was published on 15 September 2015 and all companies with current certification to ISO 14001:2004 need to have completed the transition to the revised standard by 14 September 2018. NSI is currently in the process of updating its ISO 17021-1:2015 accreditation via UKAS, so that we will be able to audit your organisation to the new version of the standard and offer accredited certification. NSI is still able to offer accredited certification to ISO 14001:2004, up until the 14 th September 2018. NSI is committed to achieving accreditation by the end of September 2017, meaning any clients currently certified to ISO 14001:2004 can transition to the new version of the standard at their next audit (between September 2017 and September 2018). To assist clients in preparation for this transition, NSI has developed a 14001:2015 guidance document and a checklist for approved businesses to use in support of their transition. Should you have any queries regarding this, please contact your Account Co-ordinator. NSI is currently preparing for a ‘pilot programme’ of ISO 14001:2015 audits. Should your organisation be ready to transition to the new version now, or in the near future, please contact your Account Co-ordinator to be considered for the pilot programme. Any ISO 14001:2015 certificates issued to organisations prior to NSI’s ISO 17021 -1:2015 accreditation being updated will be unaccredited certificates and will not include the UKAS crown and tick logo. Pilot organisations who are issued unaccredited certificates will be upgraded and provided with accredited certificates at such time as NSI’s accreditation is updated, at no additional cost. Being part of the NSI 14001:2015 pilot provides the opportunity to be one of the first NSI approved organisations to achieve certification to the new standard. I do hope this information is helpful to your organisation. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
