Publication of BS 10119:2026 – Provision of labour to the security and events sector –
Code of practice
BS 10119:2026 has a publication date of 30th June 2026 and is available through licensed outlets
including NSI who can supply copies at a discounted rate. This standard replaces NSI code of practice
119 – Provision of labour in the security and events sector (NCP 119).
Implementation timescale for Applicant Companies
Applicant Companies will be audited against BS 10119:2026 from 1st July 2026, and any nonconformances recorded against clauses of the Standard will have to be satisfactorily addressed
before approval can be granted.
Implementation timescale for existing Approved Companies
If an approved company wishes to continue their certification for provision of labour in the security
and events sector, we will conduct a transition audit as part of the next scheduled audit, this will
cover the requirements of BS 10119:2026. The transition period will last 12 months from 30th June
2026, NCP 119 will be withdrawn at the end of this period.
If an approved company does not wish to transition to BS 10119, they will be required to notify NSI.
Certification to NCP 119 will continue (subject to completion of audits) until 30th June 2027, the
certification will then be withdrawn.

Details of the changes
Although BS 10119 is a new British standard, we have provided a table below that highlights the
variance of BS 10119 to NCP 119. Where requirements related to trading lawfully or compliance with
legislation, these have been removed or amended to notes, as British standards are not permitted to
specify meeting legal requirements.
