OPENREACH DIGITAL SERVICES TEST LAB – INVITATION TO TEST EQUIPMENT COMPATIBILITY IN THE NEW ALL-IP ENVIRONMENT

We are writing to inform you of an opportunity offered by Openreach for installers, maintainers and manufacturers within the fire, security and related sectors. As part of our collaborative efforts with Openreach and various communication providers, we are facilitating the distribution of the information below, which was provided by Openreach. The aim is to support individuals and organisations, who have security and fire alarm systems connected to the PSTN telephone network, in transitioning smoothly to the All-IP network infrastructure. Openreach Digital Services Test Lab The Openreach Digital Services Test Lab was established in 2021 to assist organisations in preparing their products for compatibility with the All-IP environment (FTTP/FTTC/SOGEA). This lab has already welcomed companies from various sectors including Telecare, intruder/fire alarms, lift alarms, and flood defence systems, offering a unique setting to test both legacy and new devices across multiple emulated networks such as SKY, TalkTalk, BT, EE, Vodafone, and Zen. Following a recent relocation, the test lab is now situated at: Adastral Park, Martlesham Heath, Ipswich, IP5 3RE Invitation to test compatibility and performance Openreach is extending an invitation to installers and their suppliers to visit the test lab, providing the opportunity to evaluate device compatibility and performance within the All-IP infrastructure. This optional opportunity can be particularly beneficial for ensuring seamless operation on multiple network platforms. To arrange a visit or initiate the booking process, please contact Openreach directly at all-ip@openreach.co.uk. Important notes • Participation in this testing initiative is entirely voluntary. We are sharing Openreach’s offer solely to facilitate awareness and support the smooth transition to All-IP. • Openreach staff will be on hand during testing to assist and offer guidance, ensuring companies receive the necessary support for equipment adjustments where needed.
