To: All Guarding, Cash and Specialist Services approved companies
Dear Colleague,
PUBLICATION OF BS 10119:2026 – PROVISION OF LABOUR TO THE SECURITY AND EVENTS
SECTORS
Following the publication of BS 10119:2026 – Provision of labour to the security and events sectors,
we would like to inform you of how this will be introduced to NSI schemes and how it will affect
those organisations that currently hold approval for NSI NCP 119 or are using labour providers within
their scope of approval.
Will NCP 119 approved companies need to gain approval for BS 10119?
If an approved company wishes to continue their certification for provision of labour to the security
and events sector, we will conduct a transition audit as part of the next scheduled audit, this will
cover the requirements of BS 10119:2026. Providing the audit is successful, with major nonconformances addressed and root cause and corrective action responses accepted for any minor
non-conformances, a recommendation for certification will be made, and a new certificate with the
updated scope will then be issued.
Will there be a transition period and will NCP 119 be withdrawn?
The transition period will last 12 months from 30th June 2026, NCP 119 will be withdrawn at the end
of this period.
Will NSI provide any guidance on the differences between NCP 119 and BS 10119?
NSI will provide a technical bulletin that will highlight the differences between NCP 119 and BS 10119.
What if a company does not want to proceed with BS 10119 approval?
If an approved company does not wish to transition to BS 10119, they will be required to notify NSI,
certification to NCP 119 will continue (subject to completion of audits) until 30th June 2027, the
certification will then be withdrawn.

Are there any change to NSI criteria regarding use of labour providers?
MSF 571 – Guarding, cash and specialist services approval criteria has been updated to reflect the
introduction of BS 10119. This includes arrangements for using labour providers and NSI’s
requirements.
Yours sincerely,
